Bath Time for the Babes

Here are some pics of my little girl with our new cat. He is so fascinated with bath time. I did not catch him fast enough this time and he jumped right in! Luckily the water was just to his belly. Wonder if he will do it again? I don't know if you can tell how WET his legs are! He really didn't seem to mind the water. We still do not have an official name for him yet. We mostly just call him kitten. Is that sad? We can not all agree on a name just yet and nothing really feels right. I guess it will come to us eventually. Oh, and Tamale and him are already starting to play together. I am so happy about that. I can't wait to see them snuggle together. They are inching closer and closer.

We had a very jam packed Christmas this year. My husband's side always has a few parties the week of Christmas and then last night was spent over at my sister Cris's house . Parties are always magical over there. It was especially fun feeding the raccoons and a very interesting , to say the least, assortment of opossums. Wish I had a picture of that!

Hope you all had a wonderful Holiday!

So Much Ruckus Around Here

At least that is what Tamale says. She says there is too much Ruckus around here! We have taken on a new baby kitten and my cat, Tamale is NOT very pleased. These are pictures of the new kitten.

This is what I have been up to. I know he does not look like much trouble. It is really Tamale that I am working with the most. She is quite the Queen of the house, but I think she is warming up to him a little.
I do want to take this time to thank three people that have recently given me awards and I have not been able to do my very important award duties so here it goes. I want to thank Jenny Carter of Wonders of Whimsy . Without her I would not even be here. Lol It is true though! Jenny did get me started on blogging. I also want to thank Stephanie of Fantastic Figments . Her artwork and her personality always puts a smile on my face. I also want to thank Sonia of The Dark Ravens Nest . She has some very interesting dolls on her site and is starting to get back into sculpting again.
Check out all of these lovely ladies, if you have not already, and thank you all again for the award!
Hugs,

Three Little Girls and Three Little Kitties

I just posted these Cute girls and their kitties. I think they all turned out very cute. I love all the kitty faces and the soft colors of these. They would look perfect in my little Rose's room. Sooooo, if they don't sell I will be happy to hang them in there.

Second Visit from the Tooth Fairy

Anthony was determined to lose a loose tooth, so after a night of eating crunchy food, success!
I was so happy for him, and then my thought immediately went to, Do I have any substantial change in this house? And, ohhhhh, now have to wait up for the tooth fairy.
We spent the next day shopping because of course the tooth fairy money was burning a hole in his pocket. He found some cool spy gear and Rose opted out of a professional hair cut in exchange for a barbie. She is 4 and has still never been to the beauty parlor, or in my world, Custom Cuts. Ha ha.
I am pretty good with a swing bob cut, so I treated her to my special, buy a haircut from me get a free Barbie. She went for it. I washed her hair in the sink just like they do. I even styled it and did her nails. Everyone was happy.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Star Light Star Bright

These lovely angels have been a big part of my week! They did take more time than I had planned, but it was fun. They all have such different personalities and it was interesting doing the photo shoot this morning. I could see them all checking each other out!

These star boxes I found were so cute, I could not resist doing something with them. Well, since I really do not have a past of angels saved on CD, I couldn't collage prints so I had to hand paint all of these beauties. woooh! A lot of work for 5 little boxes.

These boxes are so neat though! They have little magnets that hold the lid on. They can sit perfect in a tree or at your bedside. I am calling them Prayer/Wish boxes. You just write your prayer or wish on a piece of paper, fold it up and tuck it in. Let your personal angel work on it. I have something like this myself and for some reason, having my prayer in a special place just makes me feel better. Funny, huh. PS. A small Rosary will also fit. :)

I also finished a very grumpy snowman. He is yelling "Let it Snow!"

Have a Fun Friday!! Jennifer

As the Weekend Comes to an End

Today we decorated our Christmas Tree . We have it in a new spot this year so I am still getting use to it. The kids have a fort built all around it and my husband is upset that he can't get near the TV to watch the game . Hhhhhhh. As sad as I am that the Thanksgiving weekend is coming to an end, I am also ready for everyone to go back to routine. :)

I will leave you with my most recent painting . I just listed it on ebay.

Antiquing We Will Go

It is a family tradition for all of us sister's, nieces and of course our Mother to go Antiquing the day after Thanksgiving in a little town where they serve cookies and coffee by candle light in every shop. We decided a long time ago to avoid the overcrowded stores of the city for a quiet slow paced day of Antiques and specialty shops. Did I say quiet? Well, it was actually far from quiet with all of us girls.

We came upon a new shop in town that sold felted wool and hook rug patterns and everything else that Jenny Carter of Wonders of Whimsy is doing right now. It was so beautiful in there that we all walked out with something to work on. Somehow I was even signed up for a class! I know I will not have time for this. It must have been those chocolate chip cookies she had sitting out that sweetened me up.;) Here is a pic of a display in the store with all of these wool balls attached to everything. My sister Cris in red from Mommy's Midwest Mountain and I were so taken with these wool balls that we had to get a bag. Here we are dividing the balls below. You can imagine our laughter as we picked over these balls.

Like always, it was a very fun day and we were so sad to see it end.

Hope you all are having a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving weekend!

Well Read

I stepped away from Christmas to do this one that I had in my mind.

This painting has been signed by Tamale. Ha ha. While I was collaging this one , I came across one of her many paw prints on my paper and thought , what the heck. She has a habit of walking through my paint and then leaving a trail. Naughty Kitty. Maybe this is what she was trying to do.

The Marie-Antoinette Award

I was just awarded The Marie-Antoinette from the fabulously talented Amy Sullivan of The Heart of a Seed and Stephanie Mannuci of Fantastic Figments . If you have not been by their blogs yet, now is the time. Amy has an amazing way of capturing the beautiful chubby cheeks of babes. They truly come to life on her canvas. Also, check out how she can turn plywood into gorgeous hardwood floors! Stephanie has a style all her own. Along with being so spunky and sweet her paintings are full of cheer and will bring a smile to your face. I know they always make me smile.

I am not going to follow the rules this time around instead I would just like to take this time to thank all of you who stop in and have such sweet comments. It truly is a highlight of my day. I also love keeping track of all of the wonderful artist that I have come in contact with. It is amazing how everyone on here is creating such beautiful and uniquely different art.

Thank YOU!

Just a Little Snow Bunny

This is just a little Snow Bunny on a wood plaque. I used Cris's Secret Crackle. ;) Then I rubbed a little shimmer into the cracks and it almost looks like broken glass. It gives it a very icy effect. I plan to list this and my Santa painting tonight on Ebay.

Hope you all are having a nice weekend. We had our first little flurry of of snow and ice yesterday. The kids ran out in boots and coats to play with it as it fell from the sky. Not much to play with yet, but the excitement of the season is in the air.

Santa

Well, the minute my children stepped foot back in the house, I have had more than enough to do. WHY can't I just enjoy those quiet moments! Anyway, I think I work better with noise all around me. Here is a funny little painting. Not sure these little girls really want to meet Santa, or just feel like they have to.

Silent Night

I am sitting here, waiting impatiently for my babies to return home. They had a sleepover with their Grandparents. As nice as that sounds, I am not sure I like it. Talk about a Silent Night. I MISS MY BABIES! I can't wait to see them. So to pass the time I will show you my latest painting that I will be posting to Ebay tonight. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Fun with Fall Leaves and a Taste of Sugar.

We are having so much fun with all of these dead leaves. They are falling so fast.

Here is a peak at my Sugary Sweet Collection. They are all so sweet they are giving me a toothache. Ouch.

Check out my new little video of Tamale playing fetch. I have it posted below the longest drink ever. Have a wonderful day!

Santa's Helpers

Here are a couple paintings that I have been working on. I plan to get them on ebay soon. I am having fun working with texture lately. I love how primitive the "Santa's Helpers" turned out. I want to try and do another one like that. I think the "Snow Girl" turned out very sweet and almost Victorian. I thought I was going to do some fall ones, but instead I just jumped right into winter. Hope you all are having a great week.

Hello Color and Goodnight Moon

We are just now starting to have beautiful fall color.

This one looks just like a green apple.

If you have ever been around little kids, you know the book, Goodnight Moon.
I have always thought how fun it would be to decorate a room just like the Goodnight Moon room. Well, this is probably as close as I will ever get. Unless, I finish the basement like this... hmmmm.
Anyway, there was a list of things we could have done for our school assignment, but Nino, my son, and I decided to make a pop up of the Goodnight Moon room. When we were finished Nino and Rose were so excited to play with it. I think it turned out pretty cute myself. Nino made the bunnies and many other items in the room. I think the bunnies have such cute faces!

I do have a few paintings that I am working on. I hope to finish them soon. I will give you a peak when I have them done. :)
