This R2-D2 artwork was created by my son Anthony. We are all huge fans of Star Wars. We were lucky enough to be able to go to Star Wars in Concert. All the music was played by an unbelievably talented Symphony Orchestra while parts of the movie played on a giant screen . Anthony Daniels who played C-3PO narrated . It was quite an experience and I think we all agree we would do it again. Although, Anthony did cry all the way home because he wanted to meet Anthony Daniels and get his autograph. :(

Yes,
Anthony wore a Jedi robe there. He was not the only one in costume as you can imagine.

These are my latest paintings up on ebay. These have been almost finished for a couple weeks and I just now got around to putting the finishing touches on them.
Too much partying and not enough painting.
Now I am off to go mail my Christmas cards. It is crazy that you can only send two cards on a dollar. Wow. I might look into postcards next year. ;)

I have to show off my niece Laura's painting. It is of my dear baby Rose hugging my other niece's dog , Punch.

This is a perfect opportunity to welcome Laura Beth to the art blog world. If you go to her blog you may recognise her from my sister Cris's Mommy's Midwest Mountain bog. This is one of her beautiful daughters. Cris, I hope you don't mind that I am showing her off first. Hee hee

Laura has always had an amazing talent for doing portraits, even as a young girl, gees she is a young girl, I should say even as a child, she would sit and sketch portraits of the children around her. Now, in art school she is really spreading her wings. I have been after Laura for a few years now to show off her work and she has finally become brave enough to do it. :)

Laura, I love this painting! You will have to let me buy a print!

I have been a very bad blogger lately. I know you all are feeling the time crunch too. Christmas is almost here and there is so much to do.
If you are interested in what I have been up to, read on. If you are busy too, don't waste your time. :)

This week we went to Zoo Lights. It was beautiful , cold and fun. The Penguin house was open. All was perfect until Rose lost the little puppy she was holding in her hand. OH, BOY. We have not been through that with her yet. Daddy went through the park looking with no luck. Later that night I told her we could call the spirit of the puppy to come stay with us. Long story short, she went with it and was very happy playing with her imaginary ghost puppy the rest of the night. She said she will never take her ghost puppy anywhere so as not to loose him. ;)

Then the next day was a field trip for Anthony's class to the Transportation Museum. What can I say, I love trains. Maybe it is because my Grandpa worked as a Train Master for the railroad all his life 12 hour days, 7 days a week. They hold a special place in my heart.

Finished out the week with decorating Christmas trees, watching Christmas movies and making Christmas cookies.

This a pic of me that Rose took.

Here is a shot of my messy kitchen. On the kitchen table are pendants that I am working on and some prints mounted on wood I plan to get up on Etsy soon.

I hope you all are not falling behind on things to do. Take a deep breath. It will all get done.

I hope you all had a very nice Thanksgiving. I kicked mine off by staying up all night trying to keep Nino comfortable until the doctor's office opened. He had a double ear infection . He just keeps getting hit over and over. My poor little boy. Luckily it was Tuesday night instead of Wednesday night. He was much better as soon as he had a second dose of meds. All was well by Thanksgiving Day.

I was able to finish this painting today. It is a BIG16X20. Up on ebay now.

I have so many little projects I would like to get done around the house. We are slowly tearing our carpet out and replacing it with hardwood. I am working on the stairs to the basement now. Is this how it looks at your house when you try to get something done? Why do kitties LOVE to be right in the middle of things? :)

"The Race" is up on ebay now. I love this one. It is a 5x7 and looks so pretty in a frame.

The next one is a BIG 16x20. It is so hard to get a good picture of paintings this size because I can't use my scanner. Also, it rained all week so no good days to take a picture outside. I do love the cold feel I get from this one. I did little snow flakes all over the scene. Burrr.

Anthony is home sick again from school. He is catching every germ. Poor boy. I do think Foster enjoys the company though.

Sorry, this picture of Foster is a tad obsene.

Below is a short video of Nino making 'Pork and Dumplings' instead of 'Chicken and Dumplings' because both Nino and my husband are slightly allergic to chicken.

It was very delicious!

Love ,

I have two new paintings up on ebay and I have a 16X20 that I will post soon too.

Don't you just love taking walks in the snow on a moonlit night? How about picking out a Christmas tree on a moonlit night?

I have Christmas trees on the mind lately. It is that time of year. In fact, we have already spotted some up in nearby homes!

I wanted to do a real tree this year, but I am not sure . We have an artificial one that I have never really been happy with. Maybe if I spend the money I would have spent on a tree on a bunch of new lights, I might like it more. Hmmmm. There really is nothing like a real one though.

Here is a picture of my sweet little Boy Scout. We went 'Scouting for Food' for the local food pantry this weekend. Anthony was so proud going door to door in his uniform and everyone was so polite to him. It was a very nice experience.
Well, I hope you all got some rest in this weekend. I plan to tonight. :)

I have nothing new to show this week due to the normal interruptions like this one. Yes, that is orange marker all over her face. I didn't see what she was up to until she came to me asking for orange ears. I screamed first and then made the ears.
A late BIG Thank you to all the Veterans out there, (my father in law)!
Hope everyone is having a good week.
Love,
Jennifer

These are my two newest on ebay.

I wanted to share with you a video from All Souls Day Mass. It is impossible to capture how beautiful it is. Every year they light candles on all the graves of a cemetery less than a mile from my house. I tried to sneak a video, but I was right by the generator that was really loud, but you can get the idea. This is not the whole picture. The candles go on and on, but I didn't want to interrupt mass. /:)

Can you guess what Rose and I were for Halloween??

If you guessed Coraline Jones and the 'other mother' you guessed right!

Rose made such a cute Coraline. I loved her freckles and blue hair.
We had such a fun time at my sister Cris's ( Mommy's Midwest Mountain ) house. She had her usual Halloween party. I can't even begin to show you how neat she decorates. It just does not translate on photos.
I do have one photo from the party to share though.
My sister Susan totally takes the prize for best costume.
She came as Edie Beale from the Grey Gardens.
We are all so fascinated with the documentary and movies. If you are a fan of them, you know what I mean. :) Hope you all had a super safe and fun
Halloween! Jennifer

I am ready for the next holiday.
These two winter paintings are up on ebay now.

It already looks like Thanksgiving outside here. All the leaves have fallen off the trees and that makes it walking through the woods season. That is a rule I have set with my children. I like to wait until the trees are bare so that I can see them easily. This picture is from last spring. Foster, our cat was the first to suggest the kick-off walk of the season. I swear he is part dog. On went the rubber boots and off they went for their first adventure of the season. Our little creek was running pretty good because of all the rain we have had. We are still in search for a treasure we buried last year that must have went floating down aways.

I want to end this post thanking Michele Lynch for the Kreativ Bloggers award. If you have not stopped by her blog, please do so. She creates some of the most unique and beautiful pieces of jewelry. Truly one of a kind! Check her out.

I need to go work on my costume!!!
Happy Halloween!!!!

Well, in the last couple of weeks I have been everywhere an elementary child's heart desires to be in the fall.
I am apple pickin', haunted hay ridin', pumpkin carvin', costume packin' and party goin' ed OUT!
I have been on THREE hayrides in the last two weeks.
I am on my way to help out with the fall party at school and then other than Halloween night, I AM DONE.
I never thought I could get sick of fall, but I am ready for something new.
Hee hee.
Hope you all are enjoying the colors. We have had the wettest fall on record, so mind you, most of what I have been doing was in the rain and mud. Fun.
I hope to have some new paintings soon.
Have a super day! I hope it is dry and sunny where you are!

Sleepy Cat up on Ebay .
Got to run!

Monday, October 12, 2009

Boy, I had a rough Thursday night. Poor Anthony had an ear ache come on fast and furious. He was crying so hard. I had given him Motrin, but it only helped a little. I waited an HOUR for the nurse line to call back from the pediatricians office only to find out they would not prescribe meds over the phone. They would have to see him in the morning. Well, of course, I was not waiting until morning. We went to the Urgi-Care and was treated in about 10 mins. By morning the meds had kicked in and he was feeling much better. Phew! Kids getting sick is the scariest feeling to me. I HATE it! I think this is why I love summer so much. With fall comes illness. Yuck.
I do love Halloween though! Halloween decorations are the best.
This is my last Halloween painting of the year. It is up on ebay. What a curious kitty!
Kitty Hug with Flowers. Bright and cheery also up on ebay. I had a hard time deciding to crackle or not to crackle. I decided not. The flowers are so sparkly. It is hard to see in pics, but they really pop.
It sure is getting so cold around here.
Hope you all are keeping warm !

New prints at the Etsy shop.

I have upgraded most of my prints to a semi-gloss full 8X10 size. They look really nice. Check them out.

Also, I had a request for an 11X14 size and found that this came out very crisp and clear.

So I am offering that size too.

That has been my week so far. Now I will go back to painting. I have a few new ones started that I would love to get finished.

I hope you are all keeping away from that nasty flu bug and thank you so much for all of your very kind commments

I have been experimenting with my paintings this week. Trying some new things and as you can see, my girls grew a little taller this week. I miss the movement I had with my taller girls so I am playing with that a little. I have another 16X20 that is not quite finished yet, but it is a landscape with my taller girls on it. I will show it soon.

I also added worldwide shipping to my ebay.

This one is up on ebay now.

Have a great Friday!

This is my "Fall Frida". One more Frida and then that is it for a long time again.

She is up on ebay.

We spent our Saturday at a "Pirate Fest". I have never seen so many pirates in my life. I could not tell the regular people from the actors. It was really an amazing event and very fun. Lots of good people watching for sure. We will have to make it back next year.

They had a scavenger hunt for the children. One item on the list was a feather from the parrot rescue tent. Here is Rose holding one.

Here is Nino with one of the most real looking pirates in the
middle. I am thinking on a regular day I might cross the street if I passed this man on the sidewalk if you know what I mean. Very interesting poeple and it really brought you back to what it might have been like.

Here is another painting I did this weekend. It is a big 16X20. Not sure what I might do with it yet. I will need to find a box if I list it.

Hmmmm, I will have to think about that one.
